THE EUROPEAN CONFERENCE, PARIS 2010
The end of May marked another successful conference as Creatis hosted IAPA's European Event. With 77 delegates attending, the 2-day event provided everyone with a stimulating mix of tax and audit forums, external presentations, internal updates on the special interest groups and future conferences and a hugely popular 'speed dating' business game.
A warm thank you to all at Creatis for organising such a great event including the speakers: Jacques Potdevin (IFAC) International Standards and Market; John Gray and Reinhold Poppek (AIEL) who gave a fascinating presentation on business opportunities in China; Mathew Wellhoff (ADEME) Sustainable Development and Marc Guiraud (President AEF) Information and Technology in relation to the 21st Century.
It appears guests really enjoyed the balance between work and relaxation - a fantastic social programme was organised with visits to Versailles, Montmatre and the Louvre. The Parisian food was, as expected, wonderful with fine dining at Maceo Restaurant in the heart of the City, as well as the gala dinner - on a river boat cruise along the Seine, where the Didier Couturier band kept everyone on their toes until the early hours of the morning.
